Photography inspiration

Ludmila Steckelberg
One of Ludmila's projects "The absence of all colours" I feel deals directly with memory loss, using her photography for rememberance. So by moving the dead ancestors from the photograph you can almost visualise them as they were there, as you are still able to see the black outline of the body. I really like this project of Steckelberg's and thought it was insightful as it could link  to the brief of memories.

My Response

For my Ludmila inspired photo I scanned an old picture of my great auntie and uncles and blacked out my great aunt who past away first, to create a sense of rememberence like Steckelberg. This use of edit is effective in my opinion as you can almost picture the blackout individual.
