Summary of rotation stage

The six weeks of exploratory has been very intriguing. I learn't a lot when taking an insight into photography, animation, sound design and broadcast. The rotation opened my mind to other posibilities in lens based media and challenged my creativity many other skills.

Photography
Photography was the start first two weeks of the rotation. When we got the brief of future memories and to create a photo on this topic I was nervous, however once being taken through the stage I realised  how composition, colours, editing and cropping could have such an effect on a photo. I learn't how to analyse a photograph and produce one I could relate to. This stage would be the stage I enjoyed the most as my interests lie in photography and it only left me wanting to learn more.

Animation
Animation at first was not a topic I was particularly interested it, however I kept an opened mind and did my best when attempting this stage. I found animation quite tedious and realised you have to be very patient. Despite this I did like the project. I found that story telling is a lot more difficult than I thought but I learnt how to use a new programme iStopMotion to make my own animations.

Sound Design
When I first heard I was doing sound design I was unsure as to what aspect of sound I was going to explore and what it would be like. It is fascinating how you can make sounds sound like other sounds using different objects. The project I did was successful and I worked well in my group and played a fair part. When I began this stage I didn't have a clue how to use the software, but I soon figured it out and ended with a realistic, interesting sound journey.

Broadcast
Broadcast for me was defiantly the most challenging, as in our group we face various problems with the story, filming and decision making. However we did over come these obstacles. Broadcast taught me that just by the setting, colours and angles and music can set up the whole story and change how viewers see it. The biggest challenge was the time scale as we could only produce up to one minute of film, we had to do various edits and changes till we came to our final production and I feel it was successful in many ways.
