Sound design inspiration

'Buried' 2010

Our main inspiration for sound design was the film 'Buried' starring ryan reynolds. We researched many films and sites and this film proved to be very convincing. In the film the protagonist, after an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. He has a phone, a lighter and 90 minutes of oxygen to escape, to survive he has to try and work out where he is and get the outside world to save him. As a group we thought this film was very effective and gave a good insight as too what being buried alive could feel like. This helped as the narrative and the use of sounds triggered ideas for our sound journey.
